CANADIAN EXPERIENCE CLASS (CEC) PROGRAM
- This program is for applicants with skilled work experience in Canada and who wish to become Canadian Permanent Residents.
- It was devised for temporary foreign workers and foreign graduates with qualifying Canadian work experience.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Key Parameter: Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB)/NCLC (for French)
Brief Description
- The applicant has to take an approved language test for English or French.
- The minimum requirement is to procure a score of CLB 7 (NCLC 7 in case of French) in all the 4 language skills in case the NOC skill type is 0 or A.
- The minimum requirement is to procure a score of CLB 5 (NCLC 5 in case of French) in all the 4 language skills in case the NOC skill type is B.
Key Parameter: National Occupational Classification (NOC)
Brief Description
- At least 1 year of skilled work experience in Canada within the last 3 years.
- Should have been gained by working in Canada legally.
- This must be under one of the following categories.
- NOC 0 – Managerial.
- NOC A – Professional.
- NOC B – Technical Jobs and Skilled Trades.
The skilled work experience can be in one or more NOC 0, A or B jobs.
- Although in the case of CEC, there is no Education-based requirement, this factor does help to improve an applicant’s rank in the Express Entry pool.
- For education completed in Canada, points can be earned for a Canadian certificate, degree or diploma from a secondary or post-secondary institution.
- For foreign education, points can be earned for a completed education credential and an ECA report from a designated organization.
